Our Services:
This consultation service is devoted to interpretation and diagnosis of breast tissue biopsies and surgical excisions. Pathology diagnoses are rendered, often with suggestions regarding therapeutic and prognostic implications.
We provide the classic form of consultation which reviews the available pathology material and the information attending its submission for diagnostic evaluation, and provides a complete surgical pathology diagnosis. We also are attentive to special questions about type of differentiation or clinical implications of specific findings; etc. Recuts and special stains are generally not required but may be necessary in certain circumstances. However, if you anticipate this may be necessary, a block(s) can also be sent to expidite our response.
Many requests for our review of cases come from clinicians with specific questions related to management issues, i.e.- therapeutic responsiveness, margins, types of ductal carcinoma in situ, etc., as well as questions related to mammographic correlation. These reports will be made directly to the clinician requesting them as well as to the relevant pathologist.
Turn Around Time:
We endeavor to be very timely in our turnaround time. In most cases, you can expect a telephone call or FAX on the day of receipt, or the following morning.
